European Oak: A Table Story

SPONSORED PROJECT This project was in collaboration with M. Bohlke Lumber and included the full production of a natural edge dining table made from European Oak. The flat black, metal table base (model: #307 Tulipe) was purchased from Flowyline Design. Besides making a beautiful new dining table for my client, I wanted to document the full process on video, including most of the steps along the way. Each of the three videos below compresses months down to minutes, but it still conveys the effort required to make a table like this. The slab was a beautiful piece of lumber, with color and grain you'd want in a large piece of oak. I counted about 160 growth rings on this particular slice.
